It's no secret that Lee Jessup was a great member of our community, Lee was so many things to so many different people, Friend, Mentor, Supporter, Principal, Volunteer, Father, Grandfather.........the list goes on and on......
many of these things, Lee was also was to me, but I had to walk no further then my own backyard to have to unique privilege of also calling Lee my neighbor. I'm sure Jesus first words to Lee Were "Well Done, Good and Faithful servant, welcome home."
Most of us agree that when we pass we go to the Lord's House. I believe that we were made in the image of God therefore in heaven we Just may have communities, neighborhoods, and with neighborhoods we have neighbors, Great neighbors, neighbors like Lee Jessup, so what I tell you now to help comfort you in this time of mourning is simply this.. Jesus has a new neighbor, Jesus now has a Great neighbor, Jesus now has my Great Neighbor, Lee. I'm not sure if they have ever had a culdesac party in Heaven before Lee, but one thing I'm certain of, they will now.
So to my friend and neighbor, I wanted you to know that My life, like the life's of everyone else that you were apart of are Forever changed for the Better, So until we meet again, See if you can manage to Save me a spot next door.
Your friend and Neighbor.

Lee was the principal at Lincoln Trail Elementary when our mother, Darlene Mahin, was the secretary there. He was so supportive of our family when she passed away suddenly in June of 1986.
Please know that the Mahin family shares in your grief at the loss of your loved one.

A sterling example of what a good man is, what a good man does, how a good man leads by example to make others want to follow. What a terrible loss~

Dear Bev and all members of Lee's family,
I was blessed to work with Lee at Lincoln Trail for five years where he was always supportive of my work as a school social workerl. Beyond the school setting, we shared many wonderful times, and as a result, he will always be in my memories. The world is a less secure place without Lee in it! I live in California now and am unable to attend the service, but on Thursday, Lee will be in my thoughts, and I wish you and all members of the family the best as you move forward without him.

Lee Jessup was such a kind and warm soul. There wasn't a community function in Mahomet without his presence. My condolences to the entire Jessup family. You've lost a great man, but are richer for the memories that you will hold in your hearts.
