Wilma L. Keller

Wilma L. Keller, 89 of Monticello, passed away at 12:22 A.M., on October 12, 2012 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday October 16, 2012 at the Mackey Wright funeral home with Rev. Greg Courtright officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service. Wilma was born April 24, 1923, in Dewitt County, Illinois the daughter of Clarence David and Burnis Foy (Lovins) Brighton. Wilma married Joseph A. Joe Keller on January 17, 1942 in St. Louis , MO. Surviving are her sons, Dwaine (Chris) Keller of Monticello, IL and Roger (Jean) Keller of West Lafayette, IN, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and sister Ruth Tipsword of Monticello, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Paul Brighton and Leland Brighton. Wilma and Joe farmed in the Monticello area for almost 40 years, where she also enjoyed teaching piano lessons. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. Wilma loved spending time with her family and volunteering in the community. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers memorials be given to the Piatt County Nursing Home or Tatman Village.
