William Haley Obituary
William A. Haley, 71, of Monticello, passed away at 9:20 PM, Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Christ Lutheran Church Old Rte 47, Monticello with Rev. Allan Oman presiding. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Christ Lutheran Church, Monticello. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
William was born in Paoli, IN the son of Albert T. and Mildred L. (Grunden) Haley. Surviving are his children and their families, son William A. Haley (wife Teresa), daughters, Susan Marshall, Charlotte Schroeder (husband Don), and Alicia Haley. Grandsons, Mathew and David Marshall (wife Heather), Michael and Christopher Schroeder. Granddaughters, Linda J. and Tara B. Haley (husband Ryan), and Sara Reeder. Great Grandsons, Aidan and Nathaniel Marshall and Colin Reeder, and great granddaughter Haley Elizabeth Reeder.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Albert and Mildred Haley) and his wife Elizabeth Haley of 48 years.
William is also survived by his current wife Doris Goad-Haley, they were married in March of 2007. Step daughters Cindy Bruce, Tammy Swanson, and Teresa White. Step grandsons, Odin and Taylor Wood, Dylan White, Doug and Logan Bruce, Austin Groves, and Darin Errington. Step granddaughters, Tracy Bruce, Kaitlyn White, Shaleise Groves, Jennifer and Krissy Errington.
He was a member of the U.S. Air Force for 20 plus years and retired in 1977. Bill was a member of Securities for 5 years, spent 15 years as a bomber crew chief, and the remainder of his Air Force career as an industrial engineer. He was hired by Flo-Con Systems immediately after his retirement from the Air Force. He served as an engineer and later a Manager with Vesuvius until his medical retirement in Jan. 2000. He was responsible for building plants in Mexico, Brazil, and Canada.
Bill was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church Monticello, IL. Memorials may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church.
