William F. Ford, 82, of Monticello, died at 12:45 PM, December 18, 2011 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the St. Philomena Catholic Church, Monticello with Fr. Bruce Lopez officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
William was born October 25, 1929 in Springfield, IL the son of James and Helen (Smith) Ford. He married Patricia Parson on December 10, 1991 in Champaign.
Survivors include his wife; Patricia Ford of Monticello, children; Carolyn (Steve) Rome of St. Rose, LA, Cynthia (Larry) Ayers of Pawnee, IL, Daniel (Theresa) Ford of Clayton, MO, Nancy (Gary, deceased) Heller of Sublett, IL, Mary Kay (Tim) Austiff of Chatham, IL, and Robert (Kelly) Ford of Springfield, IL; Step children; Jerry (Beverly) Hardwick of Decatur, Craig (Pam) Hardwick of Monticello, Mike (Janetta) Hardwick of Bloomington, and Toni (Darrell) Heisey of Champaign, 13 grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 20 step great grandchildren, and 2 step great-great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter (Beverly Joyce), 1 brother (James Ford), and 1 sister (Mary Ryan).
William retired as a Stationary Engineer for the Secretary of the State in Springfield. He was a member of the St. Philomena Catholic Church of Monticello, Eagles Club #3075 of Champaign, and the Engineers Local #7. He enjoyed golf, dancing, and restoring antique Volkswagen automobiles. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR fan.
