Whitney Dively Obituary

Whitney Dively, born on October 1, 1977, in Urbana, Illinois, passed away on October 4, 2025, at her home in Champaign, Illinois.

Whitney’s life was rooted in central Illinois, where she built lasting connections with family and friends who will deeply miss her presence. She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Linda Drebes of Champaign; her brother, Mason (Holly) Dively of Mahomet; and her cherished nephews and niece Aiden, Kaleb, and Owen and Madison Rubin of Mahomet. She is also remembered by her stepmother, Brenda Dively of Urbana, stepsister Emily (Shane) McFly of Golden Colorado, stepsister Amber (Jeff) Nugent of Gifford, and stepsister Abby (Mark) Schaefer of Tolono.

She was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Dively and her stepfather, Raymond “Doc” Drebes.

Whitney had a deep love for music that brought joy to those around her. The Indigo Girls held a special place in her heart and were the soundtrack of her life. Her passion for music reflected the depth of her spirit and the warmth she shared with others.

One of Whitney’s greatest joys was being an aunt. She embraced this role with enthusiasm and love, creating memories with Aiden, Kaleb, and Owen that will be treasured forever. Her devotion extended to her beloved cats, Grace and Ellen—companions who brought comfort and companionship into her daily life.

Whitney was also a friend of Bill’s. A quiet testament to the strength she carried within herself and the support she offered to others walking similar paths.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May it bring comfort to all who mourn her passing. A Memorial Mass will be held on October 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 405 W Clark St., Champaign, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Hearts or Daily Bread Soup Kitchen in her honor.
