Wanda Simpson

Wanda, 89, passed peacefully at home in Champaign on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023.

Born Feb. 19, 1934, in Urbana, to Robert and Emma Cox. Wanda married George M. Simpson in Sept. of 1950. They had five children, Bobby Simpson (Patti Turner) of Mahomet, Cheryl Dixon (Andy) of Champaign, Nancy Schwalbe (Late Thomas Schwalbe) of Savoy, Cindy McGrath (Gary) of White Heath and Beverly McGill (Brian) of Champaign.

Wanda has nine surviving grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. All live in the area. She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Carl Cox of Urbana; and a grandson, Corey Simpson of Mahomet.

Wanda was laid to rest with her husband of 52 years in East Lawn Cemetery, Urbana. A private service was preformed by Pastor Chris Chambers of Decatur.
