Viola M. Lilly

Viola M. Lilly, age 98 of Monticello passed away at 3:45 P.M. Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the Piatt County Nursing Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Dalene Kuebler officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to time of service. Interment will be at the Monticello Township Cemetery in Monticello. Viola was born on July 7, 1911 in Piatt County, Illinois to John and Iva Lillian (Reed) Warehime. Viola married Archie Everett Lilly July 21, 1930 in Monticello, Illinois. Viola is survived by 1 son Paul (Helen) Lilly of Monticello, and 1daughter-in-law Margaret Lilly of Monticello. Viola leaves 7 grandchildren, 12 great grand children, 13 great great grandchildren, and one sister Virginia Lamb of Palm Bay Florida. Viola was preceded by her parents, husband, son Everett (Dale) Lilly, one granddaughter Cindy Higgins, and one sister Florence Elizabeth (Warehime) Kuhns.
Viola was a member of Piatt County Home Extension, Goodwill Club, Centerville Church Womens club, and was a 4H leader for many years, along with the Centerville United Methodist Church. She loved to do crafts along with sewing, quilting, and reading. Viola loved feeding the birds when she lived on the farm.
Memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home or the Centerville United Methodist Church.
