Thomas Edwin Phillips

Thomas Edwin Phillips, 50 of Bement, died January 18, 2009 at his residence.
Thomas was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was loved by all of his family and many friends. His unselfishness and giving heart was like no other with which he gave without thinking and shared without a second thought.
He was known for his wonderful artistic abilities and creative nature. Whether through drawing or model making his talent for such crafts brought joy to many.
Thomas also loved watching movies that would make him laugh. A laugh which for so many years brought laughs to those around him. Its ability to fill a room and carry through the soul of each and every other person brought joy and cheers to all and will be greatly missed.
Thomas graduated from Bement High School in 1977. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1978-1985. He loved working on the farm and with animals.
He is survived by his father Claude Phil Phillips of Bement, his daughter Jessica McCollum of Decatur, a grandson Jordan, his brothers Thomas Wayne Phillips of Champaign and Claude Dean Phillips of Bement, and sister Angela Jean Roberts of Urbana. He was preceded in death by his sister Sandra Jean Phillips and mother Geneva Faye Phillips.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Bement Township Cemetery Rev. John Frances officiating. No visitation.
Memorials may be made to an organization of the Nazarene Church of Monticello.
