Thomas J. McGehee, Sr., 65 of Monticello, passed away at 4:27 PM, Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday December 6, 2008 at the funeral Home. Interment will be in Croninger Cemetery.
Thomas was born December 17, 1942 in Taylorville the son of Gilmer and Mae (Cox) McGehee. He married Juanita Adams on August 2, 1964 in Taylorville.
Surviving are his wife: Juanita McGehee of Monticello, son: Thomas J. McGehee, Jr. of Waukesha, WI, daughter: Tracey Morgan of Beaverton, OR, son: Terry McGehee of Villa Grove, 4 grandchildren, brothers: Charles McGehee of Peotone, Robert McGehee of Taylorville, and sister: Loretta McGehee of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Thomas was a retired electrician and owner/operator of McGehee Electric. He was a member of the I.B.E.W., enjoyed working on Ford Mustangs, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys and diehard Cubs fan.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Carle Foundation Hospital Cardiac Unit.
