Thomas J. Martin, Jr., 75, of Sadorus, passed away at 6:59 AM, Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Provena Covenant Hospital, Urbana.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. Inurnment of the ashes will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday June 5, 2010 at the Monticello Township Cemetery.
Thomas was born March 1, 1935 in Monticello, the son of Thomas J. and Laura (Tarter) Martin, Sr.
Surviving are his children; Thomas J (Kim) Martin III of Mahomet, Kelly (David) Decker of Mahomet, Karen (Greg) Miller of Mahomet, Steven (Carrie) Martin of Sadorus, and Donald Martin of Mahomet, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 2 sisters.
Thomas was a heavy equipment operator for Local Union #841 and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Al-Anon Club in Champaign. He enjoyed camping and loved his family.
Memorials may be made to Provena Covenant Hospital.
