Thomas Gordon Eble

Thomas Gordon Eble (CB handle: Michigan Yankee) went to Heaven on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 4am at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. 

Tom was 70 years old and resided in Danville. He was the son of Mary Elizabeth Mathews and Gordon Lyle Eble of Manistee, MI. 

Tom was preceded in death by several family members including his ex-wife, Joann Eble and his fiance, Brenda Hoaks, killed 21 years ago by a drunk driver. 

He leaves behind his girlfriend, Mary Johnson; 2 sons, Thomas Eble and Shawn Eble; a daughter, Kathleen Eble (Joe Steerman) and 3 grandchildren, Joseph and Thomas Steerman and Henrietta Crutcher. He will be missed by many friends and family members including: Steve Ryg, Darlene Holycross, Dave, his niece, Carol Mathews Feaster, Dawn Collins, Michael Johnson and many more. He will also be missed by his companion dog, 'Pongo'. 

Tom was a retired veteran of the US Army and the Army Reserves. He loved playing with his grandchildren, going fishing, camping, working on things and talking on the CB radio. 

He was a caring and loving man that helped everyone he could. 

Tom was cremated by Owens Funeral Home, Champaign. He will be laid to rest at the VA Cemetery in Danville, IL.
