Terry David Roush, 71, of Mahomet passed away peacefully following a long battle with cancer on Sunday Dec. 1st, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Terry was born on July 5th, 1953 in Sycamore, IL. to parents Marvin and Joan Roush.
He graduated from Sycamore High School in 1971, after which he attended the University of Illinois to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and graduated with honors in 1975. He worked for Farm Credit Services for 15 years, helping local farmers to computerize their record-keeping processes.
He married Kathleen Sizer on June 29th, 1985 in Champaign, Illinois.
In 1990, Terry completed his associate degree in Business Information Processing at Parkland College in Champaign, IL. Using this degree, he worked for the next 35 years as a systems analyst for State Farm Insurance in the Investment Accounting Department. He retired in June of 2024.
A beloved husband and father, Terry dedicated his life to his family and worked tirelessly to support them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and one step-brother Brent Fleetwood.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen, his son David (Shanell) Roush, his step-mother Phyllis Roush, and his brothers Michael (Marilu) Roush and Dan (Patti) Roush, in addition to his nieces Ashlie Sizer and Charlotte Sizer, his nephews Vincent Roush and Thomas Roush, his step-siblings Kevin Fleetwood, Wayne Fleetwood, and Shaun Moubry as well as many step-nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Terry will be cremated and friends may greet the family from 10:00-12:00 on Saturday December 14 at Mahomet United Methodist Church (1302 East South Mahomet Rd. Mahomet, IL). There will be a Memorial Service immediately after the visitation at 12:00 and his cremated remains will be buried at Shiloh Cemetery in Mahomet.
