Susan Shoemaker

We are sad to announce the passing of Susan Marie Brzowski Shoemaker, 69, of Mahomet, IL.  Susan fought a short battle with cancer and passed away in her home on June 29, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.

Susan is preceded in death by her mother, Marion, her father, Joseph and her sister, Sally.  She is survived by her husband, Terry Shoemaker; step-son, Travis (Lacee) Shoemaker; grandchildren, Emmerson and Mckenna; brothers, Joe, Frank and Louie; her aunt Carol (Lou); cousin, Steven Palanca; and best friend, Denise Graves; God children, Stacy Becker and Aadan Horn; and her very special cat, Mickey.

Susan married Terry Shoemaker on December 31, 1994 in Indianapolis, IN.  They exchanged nuptials while riding in a horse-drawn carriage in the company of their son and Best Man, Travis.

Susan's family owns a plumbing business (Brzowski Plumbing) in South Chicago Heights, which her brother Louie now runs.  She worked in retail all her life until she earned retirement from Meijer in 2020 after a 25 year career.

Her family is planning a celebration of Susan's life at the Botanical Gardens in Mahomet from 1:00-3:00 on July 20, where pajama attire is requested but optional.  This will be followed by another celebration at the Champaign Sportsmen's Club, 302 N. Lake of the Woods Rd, in Mahomet from 3:00-6:00, where all food and drinks will be welcome for contribution.
