Sue Martinie Obituary

Sue Martinie, 95, formerly of Champaign, died at 5:02pm on July 25, 2025 at Country Health Nursing Home in Gifford, IL.

A private burial service will be conducted at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign.

Sue was born on November 17, 1929 in Champaign, a daughter of William and Irene (Todden) Fredericksen.

She married James Martinie on October 11, 1950. He died on October 4, 2008.

Survivors include: one son, Jim (Sally) Martinie; three grandchildren, Katherine (Sean) Berry, John P. (Jaquelyn Hughes) Martinie, Michael J. (Ashlee Ackerman) Martinie; six great-grandchildren, Ava, Jillian and Ellie Berry, Olivia, Mia and Miles Martinie.

Sue went to Champaign schools and graduated from Champaign High School in 1947. She also worked locally at both Meadow Gold Dairy and Carle Foundation Hospital for many years.
