Stephen Chapman

Stephen R. Chapman, 74, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his home in Mahomet.

Steve was born on Feb. 12, 1943 in Urbana, a son of Alonzo and Geraldine Chapman.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carole; a son, Stephen R. II and a daughter, Christina; 4 grandchildren, Gabrielle, Grace, Nathan and Ian; and his 3 beloved dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Steve was a proud Veteran. He honorably served in the military for 30 years, including a tour in Vietnam, in which he earned the Bronze Star. During his military service he also served as an Army recruiter and in the Honor Guard.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Boniface Cemetery, Seymour. Military rites will be accorded. Blair-Owens Funeral Home, Mahomet is assisting the family with arrangements.
