Stephanie Wilson

After a heroic battle with cancer, Stephanie Lyn Wilson (Henderson), 50, of Mahomet, earned her angel wings on April 5th, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. 

She was so courageous and strong from the minute of her diagnosis until her very last breath. She was surrounded by family until the moment of her transition, but to no surprise, waited to take her last breath until her husband Jim was standing by her side. 

Stephanie was born on December 20th, 1967 to Spencer and Martha Henderson. She married James Wilson on June 30th, 2006. Stephanie graduated from Normal Community High School, class of 1986.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; paternal grandmother; aunt Kathy Varnum; and uncle Maurice (Pete) Rayburn.

Left to cherish her memories include her parents Spencer and Martha Henderson; husband James Wilson; daughter Harli Wilson; son Spencer (Victoria) Eades; daughter Nikki Eades; 7 year old grandson Braeden Eades; 10 month old granddaughter Elizabeth Eades; sister Stacey (Rich) Hirsch; brother Travis (Shannon) Henderson; paternal grandfather William (Bill) Henderson; uncles, aunts, a niece, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends that she loved very much. 

If Stephanie wasn’t working in the semi she was riding her motorcycle, painting rocks, working with wood, making dream catchers, meditating over winning the lottery, watching Bones or NCIS, cheating at Words with Friends, or best of all, spending time with her family. 

To know Stephanie, was to be a part of her family. She would give all for those she loved and never hesitated for a minute to help someone in need. She will be greatly missed by all who had the absolute joy of knowing her. 

Friends may greet the family on Saturday, April 14, from 10-11 am at Blair-Owens Funeral Home (102 E. Dunbar, Mahomet). A celebration of life service will begin at 11am at the funeral home. Lunch will directly follow at New Horizon United Methodist Church at 3002 West Bloomington Road, Champaign. 

The family would like to extend thanks to the wonderful staff of Parkview 6, especially Kaitlyn (HCT), Bree (RN), Hannah (RN), and Tiffany (RN), and Maren (RN) from Carle Hospice. Thank you for ensuring her final days were peaceful and pain free.

Her loss is unmeasurable, but so is the love and memories she left behind.
