Stanley Cope Obituary
Stanley Francis Cope, 76, of Monticello, passed away on July 20, 2012 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
Stanley was born on August 25, 1935 in Decatur, the son of Francis M. and Madge A. (Smith) Cope. He married Shannon Marie Nelson on July 4, 1969 in Moweaqua, IL.
Surviving are his wife; Shannon Cope of Monticello and daughter; Laurel Kirk of Gilberts, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Stanley retired after 36 years as an inspector with Caterpillar Tractor Company in Decatur. He served in the U.S. Navy and he was a member of the Macon Masonic Lodge No. 8, and the NRA.
Private family services will be held with Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to an organization of the Donors Choice.
