Sara L. Rhoades

Sara L. Rhoades, 63 of Seymour, passed away at 9:20 PM, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Monday, July 2, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Monticello with Rev. Mitch Estep officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Sara was born September 24, 1948 in Champaign the daughter of Richard P., Jr. and Esther (Norberg) White. Sara married Ronald Rhoades on July 2, 1983 in Monticello. Surviving is her husband, Ronald of Seymour; Sons Travis Dean (Jamie) Rhoades of Mansfield, IL; Jonathan Reed (Kim) Rhoades of Guthrie, IL; Sean Allen Rhoades of Seymour, IL.; brother Richard P. (Lynn) White III of St. Paul, MN; Sister Loretta A. White of Seymour, IL; granddaughter Macy Marie Rhoades and a grandson Brayden Dean Rhoades. Sara was preceded in death by her parents Richard P., Jr. and Ester (Norberg) White. Sara was a member of the Champaign County Farm Bureau (Equine Committee), Parkland College Equine Committee, Illinois Trail Riders, Horsemens Council of Illinois, Old Peoples Riding Club Champaign YMCA, and Ginger Creek Bridge Club. Sara loved riding horses, her flower garden and her grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Champaign YMCA or The Carle Cancer Center.
