Rosella (Palmisano) Draves

Rosella Palmisano Draves, 78, of Urbana, passed away at home on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. 
 
There will be a visitation on Saturday, Nov 9  from 12-2 at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St, Champaign. Funeral service will begin at 2pm at the funeral home. Military rites will be accorded.
 
Rosie was born on Sept 30, 1946 in Urbana, a daughter of John and Ina (Laroe) Palmisano. After graduating from high school, she honorably served in the US Air Force. Upon discharge, Rosie returned to her hometown of Urbana and married Floyd Draves. They were married for 23 years before parting ways although they remain close to this day. After raising her family, Rosie worked at the U of I in the parking department for 25 years. Rosie was blessed to share 15 years with the light of her life, John Grant until his passing. She enjoyed her retirement years with John on the farm, traveling to VA and reading. She also looked forward to her monthly lunches with friends. 
 
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Melanee Buck (Billy Powell Jr) of Danville and Angie (Stu) Gill of Mahomet; 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Brennan, Lindee, Cassie and Tucker and 3 great-grandchildren, Maxx, Maizee and Ariah; and her siblings, Evelyn (Howard) Scheib, David (Margy) Palmisano, Johnny Ray (Linda) Palmisano and Steve (Melinda) Palmisano.
