Roscoe 'Moe' Henderson, 76, died on February 14, 2026 at Indiana University West Hospital in Avon, IN.
There will be a funeral service at 11:00 on Monday February 23 at Owens Funeral Home (101 N. Elm St.) in Champaign, with the Visitation one hour prior to the service (10:00-11:00). Burial will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Mansfield. Military burial rites will be accorded the American Legion Post #650.
Moe was born on March 12, 1949 in rural Urbana, a son of Charles and Mary (Havice) Henderson. He married Brenda Partlow in Champaign on September 8, 1972.
Survivors include: one daughter, Debbie Henderson of Champaign and a son, Dennis Henderson of Claremont, IN; three grandchildren, Brittni (Steve) Vogel of Charleston, Austin Henderson of Champaign and Ashton Epps of Champaign; three great-grandchildren, Josie, Savvi and Scarlett Vogel; two brothers, Bill Henderson of Gibson City, Bob (Amy) Henderson of Mansfield; one sister, Sandy Rainey of Mansfield.
He is preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Moe was a proud Army Veteran and served his country as a Tunnel Rat during the Vietnam War. After returning stateside, he was stationed at Fort Knox, where he became a Drill Sergeant. Moe was awarded two Army Commendation Medals (ARCOM) and a Combat Infantryman's Badge (CIB), which he wore proudly everyday. Moe was a member of VFW Post #2839 in Indianapolis and served as Commander for several years. He also enjoyed fishing and Dallas Cowboys football.
