Roscoe Sebens Obituary
Roscoe C. Sebens, 82, of Monticello, died at 11:45 PM, Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Piatt County Nursing Home.
Memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the Temple Baptist Church 1100 Broadmoor Dr. Champaign, IL with Rev. Scott Boyd officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30-7:00 PM, Sunday September 20, 2009 at the Baptist Temple Church. Private family interment will be in Bement Township Cemetery. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Roscoe was born July 24, 1927 in Lawrenceville, IL the son of Cornelious and Hazel (Brasel) Sebens. He married Judy Ropp on August 21, 1971 in Gibson City. She died in 1991.
Surviving are his daughters: Amy Guest of Longview, TX and Kelly (Ted) Nowlin of Champaign, 3 grandchildren: Preston and Payne Nowlin, and Alexander Guest, brother: Fred Sebens of Sullivan, sisters: Rowena Knisley and Pearle Koon both of Monticello and Ada Smith of Silver Springs, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother.
Roscoe was a retired farmer and driver for Neighbor Care. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello and the Odd Fellows Lodge in Fisher for 61 years.
Memorials may be made to Kairos or Westview PTA.
