Robert H. Maehle

Robert H. Bob Maehle, age 79, of Monticello, formerly of Paxton, Ill., died Sunday, October 22, 2006, at the Piatt County Nursing Home in Monticello.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello with Rev. Allan Oman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello. Interment will be in the Lyman Township Cemetery in Roberts, Ill.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church of Monticello or the Piatt County Nursing Home Alzheimers Unit.

Mr. Maehle was born February 25, 1927 in Washington, Ill. the son of Herman and Minnie (Weber) Maehle. He married Viola Wright, she is deceased. He then married Nancy (Campbell) Stevenson on November 23, 1984 in Monticello. She survives.

Also surviving are Daughter; Lora (Tony) Gudenrath of St. Joseph, Ill., Son; Mark D. Maehle of Buffalo, N.Y., Step Son; Michael (Donna) Stevenson of Monticello, Ill., Step Daughters; Elizabeth (Paul) Schwartzkopf of St. Cloud, FL. and Janet (Anthony) Candelaria of Riverdale, Utah. 2 grandchildren; Amy and Anna Gudenrath and 5 step grandchildren; Bradley Schwartzkopf, Andrew and Charles Stevenson, and Susan and Jennifer McCabe.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1st Wife, 1 Brother (Walter) and 1 Sister (Helen Lee).

Mr. Maehle retired after 37 years as a Conservation Engineer for the U.S.D.A. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Monticello, the Monticello Lions Club and was a former member and board member of the Champaign Sportsmen Club. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
