Richard Stiverson Obituary
Richard G. Dick Stiverson, 83, of Monticello, passed away at 1:30 AM, Friday, December 18, 2009 at Kirby Hospital, Monticello.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, December 21, 2009 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Dalrymple officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Richard was born January 15, 1926 in Monticello the son of William Ora and Lena (Blacker) Stiverson. He married Minnie L. Helm on September 2, 1944 in Junction City, KS.
Surviving is his wife; Minnie Stiverson of Monticello, daughters; Paula Ainsworth of Moorpark, CA and Julia Ferguson of Covington, KY, son; Ron Stiverson of Champaign, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and sister; Betty Wright of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
Richard was a retired contractor. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the field artillery and was a member of the First Christian Church of Monticello.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home.
