Ray E. Wittig, 92 of Monticello, passed away at 4:15 PM, Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Helia Healthcare in Champaign.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Weldon Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 PM Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home.
Ray was born January 1, 1917 in Seymour the son of George and Media (Patterson) Wittig.
Surviving is his sons: Ed Wittig of DeLand and Keith Wittig of Princeton, brother: George Wittig of Monticello, sisters: Catherine Benson of White Heath, Pauline Whitehouse of Monticello, and Margarite Elder of Champaign, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Ray retired from General Cable and he served in the U.S. Army.
