Ray W. Jones, Sr., 90 of Lodge, passed away at 4:20 AM, Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Piatt County Nursing Home in Monticello.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Moorman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
Ray was born September 20, 1917 in DeWitt County, IL the son of William E. and Nellie Mae (Newberry) Jones. He married Erma J. Hankinson on January 11, 1941 in St. Louis, MO. She passed away January 28, 2008.
Surviving are his sons: Ray Jones, Jr. of Lodge, Richard Lee Jones of White Heath, daughter: Karen Leonard of Monticello, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and sister: Lucille Ammann of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Ray was a retired carpenter. He was a member of the Lodge Church of God and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Memorials may be made to the Lodge Church of God.
