Randy William Auteberry, 52, of Monticello, IL, formerly of Champaign passed into the Lords keeping Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
Randy was born on November 21, 1959, Urbana, the son of Maurice Huck and Barbara (Howard) Auteberry. He married Susan Karcher on May 9, 1987 in Urbana, IL.
Randy is survived by two daughters; Rachel of Monticello and Olivia of Urbana and one son; Connor of Monticello, one grandson; Nathan of Urbana, three brothers; Dennis (Laura) Auteberry of Urbana, twin brother Ricky (Jean) Auteberry of Monticello, and Larry (Paul) Damski of Champaign, four sisters; Deborah Auteberry of Springfield, Donna Johnson of Clinton, Lori (Joe) Ray of Champaign, and Terri (Neil) Brown of Parkland, FL, Mother and Father-In-Law; Dave (Michele) Karcher of White Heath, Sisters-In-Law; Mindy Karcher of White Heath, Brandy (Adam) Sherrick of Bloomingon, and Stephanie (Armondo) Ramirez of Champaign, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents Jeremiah (Lola Mae) Howard of St. Francisville, LA and paternal grandparents Charles (Mina) Auteberry of Newton, IL.
Randy had a larger than life sense of humor and never met a stranger he didnt befriend and will always be the eternal jokester. He attended Champaign Central High School, where he lettered in football and track, graduating in 1979. Randy attended Parkland College and was an EMT. Randy was a lifelong Lumber Craftsman and Carpenter which he shared with his father working for Thompson Lumber Co., Hundman Lumber Co., and most currently Alexander Lumber Co. He had a talent and skill for making keep-sake furniture for his family and friends. Randy never met a project that he was unwilling to tackle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. Randy was an avid Illini, Dallas Cowboy and Cardinal fan. His greatest joy in life was his wife Suzy. He cherished his time with his family. He always had a special place in his heart for children.
A celebration of his life will be held at Noon, Saturday, January 14, 2012, at the Christ Lutheran Church of Monticello. Visitation will be held from 10:00-Noon on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Micah Garnett officiating. Interment will be held in Ingram Cemetery.
