Ralph L. Allison, 85, of Ellsworth, formerly of Monticello, passed away at 5:55 PM, Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Le Roy Manor Nursing Home.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 30, 2010 at the East Lawn Cemetery in Bloomington. No visitation. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello is handling the arrangements.
Ralph was born March 23, 1925 in Lincoln, the son of Clarence Ralph and Edith (Balwin) Allison. He married Pauline Polly Baker Burton on March 11, 1982 in Ellsworth. She survives. He was previously married to Helen M. Tynan.
Surviving are his wife; Pauline Polly Allison of Ellsworth, children; Rick Allison of Monticello, Clifton Allison of Mahomet, Candace Easter of Mahomet, Anne (Rich) Walsh of Monticello, Rocky Allison of Monticello, Barry (Kim) Allison of White Heath, Major Brian (Keri) Burton of Farmington, and Debra (Bob) Stroud of Fayetteville, GA., 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sisters; Nancy Tate of Crawfordsville, IN and Dorothy McArty of La Place. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother (Donald Allison), and 1 sister (Helen Allison).
Ralph was a retired electrician from Local Union #601 of Champaign. He was a member of the Electricians Local Union #601 of Champaign, First Presbyterian Church of Monticello, Monticello Masonic Lodge #58 AF&AM, The Bloomington Consistory, the Ansar Shrine of Springfield, and the Indian Springs Golf Club in Saybrook. Ralph enjoyed woodworking, golfing, pitching horseshoes, playing bluegrass music, and was a pilot.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Le Roy Manor Nursing Home or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
