R. Ray Hershberger, age 71, of Monticello, died at 1:30 AM, Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at his residence in Monticello.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello with Pastor Terry Cooper officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 11:30 AM prior to the service.
Mr. Hershberger was born September 2, 1935 in Meyersdale, PA son of Emanuel and Drusilla (Yoder) Hershberger. He married Louise Watts on June 13, 1964 in Monticello. She survives.
Also surviving son: Michael Ray Hershberger of Urbana, daughter: Lisa Louise Womack of Monticello, brothers: J.R. Hershberger of Wellborn, FL and Joe Hershberger of Somerset, PA, sisters: Katie Brenneman of Guthrie, KY and Amanda Wengerd of Oakland, MD and 6
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 1 brother.
Mr. Hershberger was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Church in Paxton and a lifetime member of the American Fisherman. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, playing Bingo at McDonalds, and antique tractors.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Kirby Hospital Nursing, Carle Hospice, or Monticello Faith in Action.
