Owen Anderson Obituary
Owen E. Anderson, age 75, of Monticello, passed away at 2:37 AM, Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Eischen officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday, April 20, 2008 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date at Mackey Cemetery in Centerville.
Owen was born February 19, 1933 in Piatt County the son of Reuben E. and Mary H. (Rex) Anderson. He married Marilyn Cafin on September 16, 1956 in Monticello. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughters: Michelle (Conrad) Caron and Marcy (Chuck) Howe both of Billings, MT, and sister: Virginia Gose of Champaign. He was preceded by his parents and 1 brother (Dwight).
Owen worked for General Cable, General Telephone, and farmed. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, the Monticello Lions Club, Farm Bureau, Piatt County Historical Society, and the Montana Historical Society.
Memorials may be made to the Mackey family cemetery for upkeep and beautification.
