Nora Jackson Obituary
Nora Rose (Reed) Jackson, age 89 formerly of Cerro Gordo, passed away at 9:33 P.M., Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at her home in Catlin, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday June 2, 2008 at the Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church at 104 E. Carter Street, Cerro Gordo, IL with Rev. Pam Bradford officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 to 1:00 PM, Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be at a later date. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello is handling the arrangements.
Mrs. Jackson was born March 7, 1919 in Laramie, WY the daughter of John and Olive (Parr) Reed. She married Russell Jack C. Jackson August 1, 1941 in St. Charles, MO. He passed away December 4, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister-in-law Paul (Flossie) Reed and brother David Reed all of Cerro Gordo.
Nora was a devoted and loving mother of daughters: Teri Pfulger of Wood Dale, IL, Olive P. Morris of Joplin, MO, and Susan K. Anderson of Catlin, IL. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nephews Richard Reed of Cerro Gordo, David Reed of San Jose, CA, 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
Nora graduated from Burnham Nursing School, Champaign. Nora loved traveling with her husband to the Far East. Nora and her husband made their home in New York, Mississippi, Florida, Missouri, Illinois, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Her last residence was in Cerro Gordo before moving to Catlin while then splitting her time between Catlin and Wood Dale. Nora was a member of General Duty Nurse President of Illinois, past President of Craig-Reed American Legion Post #1181 Auxiliary in Cisco, Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church, Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, Chapeau of 8/40, and Cerro Gordo Womans Club, and was active in Girls State.
Memorials contributions may be made to Craig-Reed American Legion Post #1181 or Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church.
