Nancy Frazier

Nancy Frazier was born Nancy Lee Hiltner on October 9, 1931 to James R. and June J. Hiltner. She had a sister, Carolyn and a brother, Robert. She spent her childhood in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania graduating high school from the George School. She moved to Richmond, Indiana to attend Earlham College and study the arts. Though theater was her first love, she became a school teacher as dictated by the times in which she lived. In Richmond she began raising her children as a single mother and made the first of many dear friends she would have in her adult life.

Nancy was deeply artistic. From teaching elementary art, which she did for thirty years, to being an avid patron of the arts, to creating her own beautiful works of pottery, she saw life through an artists eyes.

Nancy lived most of her life in the suburbs of Detroit. There she had many loving friends who shared her open-heartedness and light. Together they explored lifes spiritual forces and earthly humanity.

Nancy is survived by: so Kent, his wife Elaine and daughter Hannah of Amelia, Ohio, and granddaughter Simone Frazier of Brooklyn, New York.; son Bruce, his wife Jan with son David J. Frazier of Monticello, Illinois; daughter Denise Babyak, her husband Steve, daughter Blaire, sons Max and Westin of Irvine, California; sister Carolyn (Kel) of Richmond Heights, Ohio.

Nancy H. Frazier lived with honesty and integrity. While surrounded by love and light provided by her son Bruce, the loving staff at Carle Arbours Nursing Home and the fine wondrous people of Provena Hospice, she died peacefully on November 7, 2007 after a long struggle with a smoking related disease. She wished she had never smoked.
