Michael Costa

Michael Costa, 93, of Urbana, died at 12:48am on January 13, 2026 at Accolade Healthcare in Danville, IL.  There will be a private graveside funeral service at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Champaign.

Michael was born on September 7, 1932 in Champaign, a son of Michael and Virginia (Atchison) Costa.  He married Pansy Henderson on December 23, 1951 in Champaign.  She died on May 10, 1985.

He later married Vicki Fox on Champaign December 27, 1986.  She survives and resides in Urbana.

Other survivors include: children, Terry Costa, Sr., Tina Patton and Joshua Costa; grandchildren, Tanya, Terry Jr., Linda, Johnny, Joey and Mike IV; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Tyler and Kailee.

Mike was a proud veteran and served in the Navy during the Korean War, where he conducted operations searching for underwater mines.

Mike worked locally for his parents' cab service and went on to be an Investigator for the Champaign County State Attorney's Office.  Later, he was an Investigator for both the Illinois Commerce Commission and University of Illinois Police Department.
