Michael Eugene Ashmore

Michael Eugene Ashmore, 61 of Monticello, died at 4:20 A.M. Saturday, November 1, 2008 at his residence in Monticello. Visitation will be Monday, November 3, 2008 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home 215 E. Washington Street Monticello, Illinois from 5 to 7 P.M. The Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home with Roger Ashmore officiating. Interment will be at the Monticello Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home or Faith In Action. He was preceded in death by his father. Michael was born April 15, 1947 in Tuscola, Illinois, the son of Merrill Eugene and Peggy Joan (Temples) Ashmore. Michael worked for Carle Medical Supply of Urbana. He married Wynoka (Keeter) December 31, 1994. She survives. Also surviving is his mother Peggy Joan and step father Donald Rhodes of Arcola, IL; and sister Sherie (Mike) Hammond Duzan of Grandview, IL; and brother Roger (Rhoda) Ashmore of Oakland, IL; and his children Traci (Noel) Tucker of Monticello, Travis (Jami) Ashmore of Monticello, Jason (Holly) Miller of Monticello, and Justin (Natalie) Miller of Monticello. He also survived by his grandchildren Dylan Tucker, Brittany Miller, Austin Miller, Spencer Tucker, Josi Miller, and Christina Miller all of Monticello. Michael graduated from Oakwood High School in 1965 and Champaign Business College in 1967. Michael enjoyed his family, camping and watching football.
