Melba Phillips, 87, of White Heath, passed away at 10:45 p.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Ingram Cemetery.
Melba was born April 27, 1924, in Champaign, IL, the daughter of James Judson and Helen (Glover) Caldwell. She married Clyde Scoby Phillips on November 18, 1951 in Urbana, IL.
Surviving is her husband; Clyde Scoby Phillips of White Heath, son; Jeff Scoby Phillips of Monticello, grandchildren; Mitch (Melissa) Phillips and Taylor Phillips, and great grandchild; Brayden Phillips,daughter-in-law; Kimberly Phillips of Savoy. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son (Michael Phillips), 1 brother (James Caldwell) and 1 sister (Shirley Koehnemann).
Melba was a housewife. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 17 of Decatur, past member of the Centerville Home Extension, Royal Neighbors, and the White Heath United Methodist Church.
