Matthew Mayberry

Matthew Alan Mayberry, 37, of Mahomet passed Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. 

The funeral service will be at noon on Monday, Aug. 25, at the Champaign Sportsmen's Club, 302 N. Lake of the Woods Rd, Mahomet with a visitation two hours prior, 10 a.m. to noon. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign.

Matt was born Aug. 6, 1988, in Champaign, the son of Mark and Sheila Mayberry. 

Matt was preceded in death by his father, Mark A. Mayberry; maternal grandfather, Dale E. Hildreth; maternal grandma, Rosalie (Dennis) Holzhauer; and paternal grandmother, Judith Mayberry.

He is survived by his mother, Sheila Mayberry of Gibson City; his brother, James (Kira) Hildreth of Mahomet; his sister, Jennifer (Demetrio) Roldan of Mahomet; eight nieces, Jodee, Shelby, Kya, Morgan, Alane, Isabelle, Genesis and  Jasmine; and one nephew, Demetrio Jr. He leaves behind many friends, treasured neighbors and his beloved dog, Sky. 

He enjoyed turning over many miles of wind therapy on his motorcycle. He was an avid Cubs fan. He spent many hours skating at the rinks in Savoy and Danville. Matt was a supporter of Wishes on Wheels and ABATE Toyz runs for children in need.

He was employed by Bacon Van Buskirk in Champaign and Unmatched Detailing in Champaign.
