Mary Young Obituary
Mary K. Young, age 83, of Monticello, Ill., died Saturday, October 7, 2006, at the Piatt County Nursing Home in Monticello, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the St. Philomena Catholic Church 1301 N. Market St. in Monticello, Ill. with Fr. Pat DeMuelemeester officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello. Interment will be in the Monticello Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Philomena Catholic Church.
Mrs. Young was born November 23, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Bernard and Ethel (Cavanaugh) Muell. She married Thomas S. Young on May 22, 1945 in San Luis Obispo, CA. He passed away on August 6, 2001 in Monticello, IL.
Surviving are Sons; Thomas E. (Cyd) Young of Sandy, Utah, Terry K. (Marilyn) Young of Monticello, and Michael F. Young of Champaign. 3 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren; Sisters; Lois Anderson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Betty Klein of Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Infant Daughter (Mary Kathleen), 1 Sister (Ann) and 1 Brother (James).
Mrs. Young was a retired executive secretary at the First State Bank in Monticello. She was a member the St. Philomena Catholic Church. Her hobbies included her grandchildren, family, playing bridge and dancing.
