Mary E."Betty" Malohn

Mary Elizabeth Betty Malohn, 83, of Bement, died at 1:15 AM, Sunday, September 2, 2007, at Kirby Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the First Christian Church of Bement with the Rev. Arthur Woolley officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello. Interment will be in the Bement Township Cemetery.
Betty was born on April 4, 1924 in Girard, OH, the daughter of Paul and Wilda (McCleod) Powers. She married Henry Malohn on December 18, 1945 in Girard, OH. He passed away in June of 1965.
Surviving is her daughter: Peggy Malohn of Bement, sons: Paul Malohn of Yorkville and Tom Malohn of Shabbona. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 1 brother (Clifford) and 1 sister-in-law (Nancy).
Betty was an offset printer at Fasprint in Monticello. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Bement, member and Past State President of the Rebekah and Odd Fellow Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, Chamber of Commerce and inducted into the Illinois State Bowling Hall of Fame.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Bement or Kirby Hospital.
