Mary C. Keefe

Mary C. Keefe, 89, of Mahomet, Illinois passed away Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Piatt County Nursing

Home, Monticello, IL.

Mary was born on February 26, 1937, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Mayer)

Zimmer. She married the love of her life, Phillip T. Keefe on October 6, 1956, in Chicago, IL. After living in

Alsip, IL for many years they retired and relocated to Leesburg, FL where they enjoyed living for over 26

years. Phillip passed away in November 2013. In 2020, she relocated to live with her daughter and son-

in-law in Mahomet, IL. Although she never liked the cold weather up north, she was warmed by visits

with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Affectionately known as “GG” she was truly loved and

happy.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Dr. Kathleen (Charles) Naegele of Mahomet; son, Michael T. (Fran

Warner) Keefe of Rolling Meadows; grandchildren, Charles IV (Kate), Sarah (Matthew), Kathryn (Hector),

Mary (Jeff), Michael “Thomas” (Amanda), Colleen (Mack); great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Aiden, Alexis,

Jack, Malorie, Aristea, Charles V, Allison, and Kate. She was preceded in death by her parents and

husband.

Mary was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, baking and cooking. She loved being with

family and had a great sense of humor.

She had a strong faith and loved the Lord with all her soul. There is no doubt that she was welcomed to

His Kingdom in heaven.
