Mary Catlin Obituary
Mary E. (Hoffman) Catlin, age 77, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2007, at the Piatt County Nursing Home in Monticello.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. David Stogsdill officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 3:00 PM. Interment will be held in the Monticello Township Cemetery.
Mrs. Catlin was born August 5, 1929 in Monticello, the daughter of Roland and Edith (Heckman) Hoffman. She married Robert G. Catlin on May 13, 1951 in Monticello. He passed away October 23, 2000.
Surviving are her sons; Steve (Donna) Catlin, Gregg (Renee) Catlin, and David Catlin all of Monticello, daughter; Cindy Striegel of Monticello, 7 Grandchildren; Grace, Emmett, and Sophie Catlin, Josh Scott, Will Striegel, Josh and Trevor Mohr and brother; Frank P. Hoffman of Cisco.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 grandson (Michael Catlin), and 1 brother (Harold E. Hoffman).
Mrs. Catlin established and operated the Boka Shoppe since 1973. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, Society of American Florist, Cisco Womens Club, Monticello Chamber of Commerce, Monticello Main Street, Haneline Club, and Friendly Neighbors Club. Mary graduated from Monticello High School. She enjoyed the outdoors, people, shopping for her children and auctions.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Halcyon Unit at the Piatt County Nursing Home.
