It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Raymond announce his passing on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the age of 56.
Mark was born October 17, 1964, in Savannah, Georgia, to Robert and Sarah (LaFollette) Raymond. With his father in the Air Force, he grew up living in places such as Alaska and England, and has traveled all through Europe, eventually landing at Chanute AFB. He attended Rantoul High School while living in Ludlow, Illinois and continued his education at Parkland Community College studying construction.
He enjoyed golf, baseball (go White Sox), and disc golf, and always turned these into fun competitions. His passion for music was unmatched and he had an endless knowledge of musical trivia. One of his greatest joys was leading worship at Life Community Church in Mahomet. He also loved travel and history, and enjoyed blending both for memorable trips. Mark had natural ability in everything he tried and loved to learn. He was known as MacGyver because he could fix or fabricate a fix to almost any problem. Most of all, Mark was a devoted family man and loved nothing more than spending time with loved ones.
Mark worked at the Pavilion Foundation Hospital for over twenty years and was the Building Maintenance Supervisor. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his own commercial cleaning and supply business, Primetime Commercial Cleaning, Inc. Mark used every opportunity afforded him as a business owner to honor the Lord and share the gospel. He delighted in being a small business owner and worked tirelessly to build a strong business, one that will continue to thrive in his honor.
Mark will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Robert and Sarah Raymond; wife Lisa; children, Amanda (Jonathan), Josh, Adam Nichols (Ashley), Alexa Winn (Ben); grandchildren, Griffin, Riley, and Jaxson; sister Roberta Hewerdine (Joe); nieces Shelby (Josh) and Hannah; and many other family and friends.
