Mark A. Henry

Mark A. Henry, 68, of Champaign, died on Friday, January 23,2026 at 1:59 pm at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Private family services will be held.

Mark was born on November 25, 1957, in Urbana, a son of Joseph and Rose (McKinney) Henry. He graduated from Centennial High School in 1975. Mark married Barbara Moran on June 15, 1985, in Champaign. He worked as an electrician at the U of I, earning retirement in 2020. He was also a member of Local 601.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; his mother, Rose; 3 children, Allyson (Shaun) Jones; Kelsey (Zach) Wedig and Spencer (Shannon Duncan); 3 grandchildren, Riley, Blakely, and Colton; 1 sister, Linda (Rick) Mallory; 3 brothers, Dave (Cindy) Henry, Keith (Bonnie) Henry and Rick (Bridget) Henry; a niece, Amanda (Jeremiah) Lowry and a nephew, Joe (Shelley) Mallory.

Mark was an amazing father and even better Papa. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, his favorites were the Cubbies, the Cowboys and all things Illini. He also liked to take care of his fish tanks, garden, golf and smoke meats. Mark’s favorite pastime was traveling with his travel buddy and best friend, Barb. Whether it was road trips in the country, yearly beach trips or riding along the bourbon trail, Mark and Barb thoroughly enjoyed every moment together.
