Marjorie Vance Obituary
Marjorie Vivian Vance, age 83, of Monticello, IL, died at 5:30 PM, Sunday, November 19, 2006, at the Piatt County Nursing Home in Monticello, IL.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Vance was born March 5, 1923 in Goose Creek Township, Piatt County, IL., a daughter of Homer H. and Lola A. (Furnish) Combes. She married Ralph D. Vance on April 25, 1943 in White Heath, IL. He passed away in 2001.
She is survived by her sister, Eloise Biddy Brown of Monticello, IL; three sons, David Russel Vance of Pekin, IL, Larry J. Vance and Randall E. Vance both of Monticello, IL; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister (Audrey Garnet Combes.
Mrs. Vance was a homemaker, well known in her community for her cooking and baking expertise. She was a long time member the Jolly Club and a member of the former White Heath EUB Church, now the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed keeping journals and doing crafts as well as expanding her Rooster and Ladybug collections.
Memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home.
