Marie A. Cody

Marie A. Cody, 91, of Monticello, died at 8:15 PM, May 3, 2010 in Monticello.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday May 7, 2010 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery
Marie was born September 22, 1918 in Monticello the daughter of Roy Ernest and Laverne (Stiverson) Perkins. She married Mac James Cody on January 18, 1941 in St. Louis, MO. He died February 25, 1980.
Survivors include her daughter Marcia Cody of Monticello, sons; Dwaine Cody and Ernie Cody both of Naples, FL, and Terry Cody of Indianapolis, IN, 9 grandchildren; Sharon Bethune, Steven Cody, Angela Blacker, Darlene Freiboth, Michelle Spainhour, Christopher Cody, Jarod Cody, Melissa Tate, and Crystal Basey, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers.
Marie retired as custodian from the United Methodist Church of Monticello in 1992 and worked for the Rotary and Lions Club for 30 years with Mary Chalk. Marie was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church.
