Marian L. "Mickey" Young

Funeral services for Marian L. Mickey Young, 86, of Monticello, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, 215 E. Washington St., Monticello with Rev. Dalene Kuebler officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Mahomet.

Mrs. Young died at 8:52 AM Saturday (December 16, 2006) at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello. She was born May 3, 1920, at Monticello, a daughter of David D. and Grace Laverne Fisler Martin. She married Maurice M. Bill Young on March 3, 1946 in Monticello. He survives. Survivors also include a daughter, Carol Reidel and a son, Richard Young, both of Monticello; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. A son, Michael, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Young was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, Piatt County Home Extension and the Piatt Promenaders square dance club. She was retired from the Piatt County Treasurers Office and enjoyed square dancing, bus trips, and playing cards.

Memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home Halcyon Unit.
