Margaret Williams

Margaret “Marty” Williams, 71, passed peacefully at her home in the early morning of Tuesday, July 10th. Marty was born to Harry and Grace Prestin on January 13th, 1947 in Champaign, IL. Soon after graduating Champaign High School she married her husband of 51 years, Robert “Bob” Williams, and moved to Tolono, where they have since made their home. Marty enjoyed a long successful career as a computer programmer. She was very involved in the Illinois Barrel Racing Association, serving as the Secretary and Treasurer. Marty competed in, and organized, countless barrel racing events over the last 50 years. Marty will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bob, her sons Chad and Jason, mother Grace Prestin, brother Bruce Prestin, sister Nancy Schmidgall, and her 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Brett, Kaila, Dharma, Hailie, Lane, and Cody, as well as her beloved Pug, Indy.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 16th at Owens Funeral Home (101 N. Elm St. Champaign) with a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Eastlawn Cemetery (802 N. Cunningham Ave.).
