Margaret Dillavou Obituary

Margaret A. Dillavou, 96, of Monticello, died at 5:47 AM, Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at Kirby Hospital.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the St. Philomena Catholic Church in Monticello with the Fr. Pat DeMuelemeester officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, September 7, 2007, at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello with a Rosary service at 7:45 PM. Interment will be in the Monticello Township Cemetery.
Margaret was born on April 12, 1911 in Bondville, the daughter of Lawrence and Stella (Jones) Mulligan. She married Carlyle W. Dillavou on July 7, 1934 in Urbana. He passed away on December 13, 1992.
Surviving are her children: Larry (Maryann) Dillavou of Monticello, Gary (Joyce) Dillavou of Woodridge, John (Jan) Dillavou of Monticello, Jackie (John) Spelman of Glen Arm, MD, Janice Peters of Lisle, and Debra Brown of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, sister: Helen Clark of Monticello, sister-in-laws: Blume Mulligan of Champaign and Nola Headlee of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son (Lanny), 2 brothers, 1 sister (Marie Scothorn), 1 grandson, 1 great grandson, and 1 sister-in-law (Julia Myers).
Margaret was a retired nurse from St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. She was a member of the St. Philomena Catholic Church in Monticello, graduated from Champaign High School and the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, and volunteered at Kirby Hospital and Piatt County Nursing Home for over 25 years.
Memorials may be made to the Kirby Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Fund or the Piatt County Nursing Home.
