Madeline Lewallen

Madeline Lewallen, 91, of Champaign, died at her home on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

There will be a visitation on Monday, Sept 25 from 9:30-10:30 at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St, Champaign. The funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 403 W. Clark, Champaign. Burial will follow at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington.

Madeline was born on November 3, 1931 in Bloomington to Arthur and Ruth (Meyers) Buchanan. She married A.B. Lewallen on November 12, 1954 in Champaign. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1998. Others that preceded her include 3 sons (Chris, Dick and Craig), 1 granddaughter, Tanya; 1 great grandson, Eli; 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Survivors include 5 children, Mark (Nancy) Lewallen of Houston, Michael (Kawisara) Lewallen of Urbana, Mia Lewallen of Champaign, Amy (Mark) Gendreau of Rantoul and Nan (Donald) Mosele of LaSalle; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Madeline was a parishioner at Holy Cross Catholic Church for over 60 years.

Memorials may be made to either Boys Town or Hospice Hearts.
