Louise Crawford

Louise Arlene Crawford, of Champaign, IL, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2023, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. She was 85 years old.

Born on June 22, 1938, to Albert Hinrichs and Sjamke (Uden) Hinrichs. Louise was a gentle and kind natured endearing her to all who knew her. She was a devoted mother as well as a cherished member of St John’s Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her devoted sons, Elmer (Tami) and James Crawford. Grandsons Michael, Thomas and Matthew (Lynn), and her great-grandson Louis Crawford;

She is preceded in death by her loving parents and brother, Alvin “Slim” Hinrichs, and her husband, Elmer Crawford Jr.

In her earlier years she loved to crotchet, garden and dedicating her time to volunteer work within her church. She worked at Eisner Bakery, Garrard Publishing and Colwell. Above all she was a loving, gentle and kind mother and wife.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023, at St John’s Lutheran Church, Champaign. The Reverend Jeff Caithamer will officiate. A burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Visitation will be held just before the funeral at 10 a.m. at St John’s Lutheran Church, 509 S Mattis Ave, Champaign.
