Lou worked as a Pepsi Route Salesman for 15 years. When Diamond Star opened, he became a semi-truck driver bringing in auto parts from various locations in the US and Canada. Lou worked for a short time at Solae in Gibson City, then transitioned into selling cars at Roger’s in Rantoul. Lou finished his work career as a mail contract carrier for the post office where he drove mail from Champaign to Indianapolis twice daily. He retired in September 2023.
Although Louis had triple-by-pass surgery in October 2016, he passed away from Stage IV cancer which was first diagnosed in late December 2024. He suffered much and offered up his pain as a part of his possible pending purgatory. His biggest regret in leaving this world was that he wouldn’t be able to be part of his grandchildren’s future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses said for Lou and/or donations to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
