Lorell J. Wyatt, 71, of Champaign died on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Accolade Healthcare of Savoy.
Lorell was born on Sept. 21, 1953, in Fairbury, to William W. Wyatt and Corrine Creasy.
Lorell grew up in Berwyn and graduated from J. Sterling Morton High School West. She attended Columbia College in Chicago, focusing on acting. She was a co-founder of City Lit Theater Company in Chicago in 1980. She won the coveted Joseph Jefferson Citation for principal actress and the Good Times are Killing Me in 1990.
She also attended DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago and received a bachelor's degree in computer information systems where she met her future husband, Andrew Robert “Bob” Voorhees. She joined Bob in Champaign and they were married in 1993.
Lorell is survived by the love of her life and husband, Bob, for 31 years; one son, Abraham of Lincoln Park, Mich.; two nephews, Carl and Mark; and one niece, Claudia.
She was preceded in death by one brother, James; two sisters, Patricia and Judy; and one niece, Lynn.
A celebration of life will be held in the near future in Champaign and Chicago.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, where she spent years as a XLH patient in her youth.
